Cheers to the End of 2020!

When I started 2020 my intention for the year was that it was meant to be “a year of fun”…

Though there has been fun, there has certainly been more “not fun” moments than expected… but in the end, if I look back on the year I feel it became a year of “focus”. All plans were cancelled and time became limited. All the elements in my life that were clutter fell away and made space to focus on what was really important. Focus on who I spend my time with, how I spend it and where I spend it.

My need and appreciation for spending time in nature become very important to me. If all is going crazy and I feel overwhelmed spending time in nature calms my nerves and fills my energy cup so when I get the opportunity I soak it in like a sponge. I am now trying to be more conscious of how I spend my time in work and personal life. Less time on digital and more on connection, creativity, adventure and time in nature.

I really appreciate the time I get to spend with family and friends. Going to Zimbabwe to be able to see my family after being apart over a year was a dream come true and I didn't know how homesick I was or how much I missed them until I was there. I am super grateful for them and the time we spent together in nature.

In business, we were able to take a step back and have a look at Leonista instead of head down tunnel visioning. We were able to shift our focus to serve and understand our customers better by launching our own online store.

This December, Jupiter and Saturn aligned in the night sky to create the first “Christmas Star” in nearly 800 years. For me, this once in a lifetime event is another sign to see the light in the darkness. Take what positives you can from this year and apply them to the next.
